Meet the Teachers

Ann Gain





Ann is a teacher in the Pukeko Nest. She has had many years of experience with New Entrants, and has been full time at Marshland School for 11 years. New Entrant children are her real passion and igniting their love of learning, through a nurturing environment, full of interest and high expectations. She has four grown-up children and is enjoying having them all in Christchurch at the moment.

Wiki Brown


Wiki is a new teacher to our hub this year. She is a very caring and empathetic teacher who has a passion for teaching in the New Entrants. 

Emma Jackson


Emma Jackson is a beginning teacher new to Marshland School this year. Emma had a placement at Marshland School last year and is very excited to be joining the Pukeko Nest. Emma is Mum to Lucy and Ella and has a passion for teaching junior tamariki. 


Samantha Jones


Sam Jones is a new teacher to the Pukeko-Nest hub this year. I am a past pupil of Marshlands school and I am excited to be back again, this time as a teacher. I have had experience teaching year one's and two's and I am excited for the year ahead at a new school.

Penny Shaw


Penny is one of our treasured teacher aides in the Pukeko Nest. She has been assisting within the New Entrant classroom for three years, and works between 8.30-12.30 Monday-Thursday. She has two children who attend Marshland School - Baillie and Billie Jo who are in Tui.
